Love ya, Susy!

I just hated to have miss my friend Susy and Ryan's wedding reception and dinner in Magnolia this month. So, I've been digging in a box of stuff that I got from my mom's house to reminisce. Didn't find pictures of everything I remembered, but did include some goodies below.

From the time Susy and I got to know each other in Mrs. Fallin's 5th grade class, we were attached at the hip. Together, we went through all the ups and downs that young girls experience growing up. Susy, here are just some of the experiences we had together that I can remember (and I forgot A LOT after I had my first kid for some reason, so you can probably add to the list):
  • Making bulletin boards in Mrs. Fallin's class (what fun!)
  • Our Precious Moments collections
  • Camping with my Mimi and Papa
  • Vacation at the beach with Susy's parents (was that Girl Scouts?)
  • Steel Magnolias, An Affair to Remember, and Gone with the Wind
  • Disney World with the band (and your parents!)
  • Taking lyrical jazz lessons for years (we gave poor Shannon a hard time!)
  • Years of majorette lessons and nerve-racking tryouts
  • Hundreds of ALL MY CHILDREN episodes
  • Panther PRIDE
  • French Class
  • Our trip to FRANCE/GERMANY/SWITZERLAND!!!!
  • And now our cherished Christmas visits
We grew apart for a time in high school, but I am so happy that our paths are crossing again, because your friendship means so much to me. Even moreso, I am thrilled that you have married your sweetheart, Ryan! Can you spot him in our cheesy picture below? We must have been in Jr. High then? Maybe 8th grade?
And I think this was when we were inducted into the National Honor Society, right? Remember our parents posed for a picture holding our certificates upside down? :) I would kill to have that figure again and still be able to eat all the junk food and NEVER have to exercise.

Here's us at the airport coming from Paris. Once-in-a-lifetime experience - it was unforgettable!!
And at Jaime's wedding, awww.

oh my goodness, I forgot how awful our house was decorated back in the day....Mom's come a long way. That gives me hope that maybe I'll improve, too!

Blog stalker, I am...I ended up on your blog from Susy's and am cracking up at these pictures. Just so you all can feel worse about the decor and the things you were wearing...this is exactly how I think of you all!! Not all grown up and married with real lives! And don't let Jeremy kid you...that shirt belonged to his SISTER (I don't know if that is worse for him or for me!) - Katrina (Gosdin)
